Elliot Flowerdew is an author and student of Creative Writing at Bath Spa University.
Nurturing a fascination of crime, both true and fictional, Elliot’s roots lay in their love of mysteries and curiosity of people. With writing ranging from anti-detective stories to careful balancing of magical realism and metaphor, to gothic horror, introspection and inner worlds — Elliot draws from a background in poetry, horror media, and an amateur study of social issues and criminology to shape their voice as a storyteller.
Long fascinated by the emotional complexity and connection of humans, they explore why we are the way that we are from a deeply intimate narrative view – crawling behind the eyes of narrators both unreliable and unusual in an investigation of people and the inexplicable nature of experience.
Elliot’s writing explores themes of mortality, mysteries, cannibalism, hauntings, and socio- and psychological phenomena through a concoction of lyricism and evocative prose that transcends genre confines and burrows itself beneath the flesh of the bodies who read it.
